Kenya and Tanzania are beautiful countries, but unfortunately they are also very poor countries.

Can You still remember what is was like at X-mas when your children opened their presents and their eyes lit up?
It gave You that warm feeling one gets when one has made someone else happy -right?

And seeing the sparkle in their eyes and the happy laughter was all the thanks you needed.

Donating to a charity can make you feel the same way ! Raising funds for your charity is even more satisfying and you can learn how to by filling in the form here.

But how can you see the smiling faces and the laughter in the eyes of the recipients?

Thanks to the Internet and straming media it is now possible to see the results of your generosity and how your donation has helped make things better.
Be it a new class room, a new computer, books or other learning materials, a new dormitory for homeless children, some beds or bedding, warm clothes (believe me it gets bitterly cold at night in some places in Africa) or funds to buy moskito nets or medicine.

And better still You can choose directly who will receive your donation.
My team and I (my family) will visit and make video recordings of deserving charity organisations in Kenya. We will paste these videos right here on this site and You can select which charity deserves your donation.

Donations can be made by credit card through the secure servers of PayPal. Each donation buttons links directly to Your chosen charity and funds will be transferred to them without any deductions.

You will see the children who receive your gift, you will see how their eyes light up and hear their laughter when the presents are handed over.

Paypal will also send you a receipt for your donation and if you are a company and would like us to add your logo or name e mail it to us and we will add it to our Hall of Fame next to the videos. e mail admin

Is this your perception of Africans?

Having lived and worked in Kenya, Zimbabwe,Zambia and Tanzania for most of my life, I have witnessed with my own eyes the hardship many Africans have to endure.
Discussing the "African problems" with many people of all ways of life here in Europe, I have been disapointed by the lack of their understanding of the root problems many poor countries face.

"They breed like rabbits" "Lazy people - all of them" "Utterly corrupt" "Stupid" were just some of the more common perception of many people, who have not had the chance to get to know Africans a little better.

Most people in Europe and other developed countries are worried about their pensions. Just how worried would you be if you would not get any pension at all? and what would You do about it?

Would You start "breeding like rabbits" in the hope that a number of your children might survive malaria, dysentry, thyphoid, snakebites and a few other fatal incidents? Because there are no doctors or hospitals in your area?

How much work would you manage to do on a slice of bread and some week tee? if you got any at all?

Would You let somebody off, if you were a policeman and cought someone driving above the speedlimit, if the driver offered you money - and the salary the government manages to pay you for your duties is not even enough to feed yorself, let alone your family or pay the school fees for your children?

Corruption needs two parties - one who can give something and another who wants something. The biggest "givers" are the polititions - licenses to explore for oil, licenses to import cheap and useless products. The biggest "wanters" are large corporations and developed countries. They are the main culprits - not the little customs officer at the airports, who closes his eyes for a few dollars when you bring in some forbidden goods .

Stupid? Yes we can call them stupid - if by stupid you mean they can't read or add up. How well would You read if Your school would be 10 or more miles away and you had no mummy to drive you there in her 4x4?

There are many many Africans who speak not only their tribal language, but the official language of the country which if often very different and another foreign language as well. How many languages do You speak?

And now let me ask You - how long would You survive with one pair of trausers and a shirt, for the hot days and the freezing nights, in a mudhut, with no or very little money, no clean water, a school which is miles and miles away and the local dispensary has no medecines to cure your malaria, typhoid or snakebite?

It takes a great deal of intelligence to survive under these circumstances, and reading and writing are not your first priority under those circumstances.

But having said all that - with a good school near by, a decent set of clothes, medical facilities to treat ilnesses, clean water, and regular meals and a home to go to, most Africans will quite possibly turn into very useful members of their society In fact I could very nearly garantee it.

Unfortunately there will be exceptions but these are mainly found in developed countries!!!

I know of not one African in Africa who has had the same opportunities which we in the developed countries take for granted, who has not made very good use of them.

I hope to be able to raise funds for some of the essentials required to give as many poor and underpriveladged African children a chance to escape their grim destitude.

  1. Educational facilities like schools,
  2. Class rooms, books
  3. Computers and the internet
  4. Darmitories
  5. Beds and bedding
  6. Mosquito nets and medicine

Displaying recorded videos from various locations to show proof of how donated money is being spent is the main objective of this web site. In this we hope to cinvince sceptics that money donated through this site will in fact go directly to the needy and will not be swollowed up in administrative costs.

I am planning trips to the under mentioned organizations to find out their most urgent requirments. Dates to be anounced soon. In the meantime please donate any amount for your preferred cause or just browse some of the ads on this page which will help with funding administative costs. Money donated for a cause will go directly to it, while income earned through google ads and other affiliate sales in our shop will fund the trips.

You can also donate directly to fund administration costs and the journeys here

Nairobi The Flomina Hope Foundation. On the edge of Kenya’s largest slum, lives a woman who is trying to care for 217 orphans on her own. She has only 1 small dorm, made of metal, to house 30 boys in 10 beds. Each night Florence takes 34 girls home with her, to keep them safe. The youngest 5 sleep with her in her own bed, the others crowd into 2 tiny rooms with a few mattresses to share. All the rest of the orphans and vulnerable children are sent out to the community to sleep in the slum homes of desperately poor but caring people. The orphanage needs proper housing. This place is desperate but as their name says, they have "hope". They need dorms, beds, bedding, classrooms, school supplies, teachers, builders, cleaners, people who can share any skill, and people who just love children.

Kendu Bay – MORCAO project – Over 4400 orphans and vulnerable children are living with guardians who are often not able to provide adequate food or medical care. Many grandmothers are the caregivers, and are often too old or sick to work in order to feed their grandchildren. So, the children take turns attending school so that at least one can go out in search of work for the day. These children become vulnerable and are often exploited and must trade sex for food.

Mombasa – The Calvary Zion Children's Home in Kiembeni District houses 35 orphaned or abandoned children, providing meals, shelter and education. Calvary Zion has 4 paid employees and, like most orphanages, are given no support from the government, so rely on volunteers and sponsorship. . A previous volunteer has set up a British charity as a way af making donations to this orphanage. Check it out at http://www.czchildrenshometrust.org/.
